2. School Games Federation of India National Calendar- 2024-25

 

In continuation of this office memo vide reference 1st cited, the District Educational Officers / District Vocational Education Officers are informed that, the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) has developed the calendar for the 68th National School Games for the year 2024-25 (copy enclosed) and issued tentative dates and schedule released. Further, the SGFI National calendar indicates that National tournaments are scheduled from the first week of October 2024.

 

Further, they are informed that, the calendar of Physical Education activities for Under 14 & 17 Boys and Girls at Mandal, Constituency level, tournament cum selections for 7 games (Athletics, Badminton, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Yoga, Chess) the remaining games for Under -14 & 17 and Under-19 games directly to be conducted at district level ( erstwhile district) as per the Physical Education Calendar of Activities issued by this office vide reference 1st cited and keeping in view of the National Calendar issued by the SGFI.

 

Therefore, the District Educational Officers / District Vocational Education Officers are requested to complete the district-level School games tournaments by the end of September 2024 duly following the guidelines.

 

Eligibility Criteria, Rules and Regulations

 

Age Groups:

 

Participants in the School Games will be divided into the following age groups Boys and Girls:

  1. Players should participate in only one category in the year.
  2. Players can participate in any number of games in the same
  3. A Lower Age Group (only Under 14 and 17) Player can participate in the upper-age group.
  4. A Athlete can participate in only 3 events @ 2:1 or 1:2 (Field: Track)
  5. The player should be enrolled in a recognized educational institution as a regular student in Andhra Pradesh.
  6. Every player should Provide a date of birth certificate and Study certificate mandatory to the registration desk.
  7. Technical Education students (i.e. I.T.I, Poly Technique, etc.) are not eligible to participate in school games.
  8. Players affiliated with management bodies such as CBSE, ICSE, KVS, NVS, Vidya Bharati, DAV Schools, IBSSO, IPSC, CISCE, etc., must submit a declaration from their institution, as well as a personal statement, confirming that they have not participated in their management games.
  9. The intermediate players are eligible to participate only in district-level selections.
  10. The players from the intermediate who are under-17 category should submit their college ID, birth certificate Study certificate, and should certify the entry form by the principal.
  11. When female players attend inter-district and national tournaments, the District School Games Secretary must assign a female physical education teacher to accompany them.
  12. All the U-19(Boys & Girls), and U-14,17 (Boys & Girls) District selections shall be conducted in the Erstwhile district only.
  13. Before the conduct of the Inter-District/National tournament, a meeting must be conducted headed by the district collector concerned along with DEO/ DVEO/RIO to finalize the tournament's modalities.
  14. The Inter-District Tournament Organizing Secretaries are responsible for accurately uploading the selected players' data to the SGFI portal for participation in National games on time.
  15. If any issues arise during the tournament, the concerned coordinator shall constitute a grievance committee under the chairmanship of the DEO/DVEO to resolve the problem.
  16. During the Inter-District tournaments, the concerned district school games secretary strictly instructed not to issue empty participation/merit certificates.
  17. During Mandal, Constituency, District, Inter District, and National tournaments, arrange medical support for the players from primary health centers.
  18. During inter-district and national tournaments, it is mandatory to provide women police protection at the girls’ accommodations.
  19. A person may be debarred from participating in the tournaments by the organizing committee due to misconduct or disciplinary issues. Such individuals will be ineligible to participate during the period of disqualification.
  20. The head of the institution must sign the eligibility forms, ensuring that the date of birth and other details regarding candidates are accurately specified. Overwriting or any other corrections on the eligibility forms are not permitted. Any unauthorized corrections will be viewed seriously. If any violation of eligibility rules is detected, the team or individual will be debarred from all competitions during the academic year.
  21. All the participating students must produce an attested Copy of the Birth Certificate along with the eligibility form.
  22. The District School Games Secretary, in coordination with the DEO, is responsible for sending teams to the inter-district tournament with the appropriate coaches and managers. They must ensure full responsibility for the players during travel and the tournament. Additionally, players' travel insurance is mandatory.
  23. During the selections, the selection committee, observer, and district school games secretary are responsible for ensuring fair and merit-based selection.
  24. Games and Sports should not be conducted on examination dates or festivals and in bad weather conditions.
  25. Complete all inter-district tournaments 40 days before of Nationals
  26. Mid-day meal arrangements shall be provided for players during the Mandal, Constituency, and District level tournaments. The concerned Mandal/Constituency District School Games Secretary shall coordinate with the Mandal Educational Officer and the Mid-day Meal Assistant Director at the DEO's office for proper planning of the mid­day meal arrangements.
  27. Midday meal acquaintance, Form - A (Mandal Level), Form - B (Constituency level). Form-C (District Level), and Form-D (Inter District Level) of provisionally selected List of players should be maintained by District school games secretaries.
  28. Photos of all events, the stage, accommodation, boarding arrangements, medal winners, and runners-up should be attached to the bills.
  29. After completion of the Inter-District tournament, the Concerned District Secretaries should take utmost responsibility to submit the eligibility forms and provisionally selected list of players informed to this office after completion of the tournament. Failure to submit will be held responsible personally.

Note: Any deviation from this aspect may result in punishment under CCA rules

 

Therefore all the District Educational officers and District Vocational Educational officers in the state are requested to issue necessary instructions to all the MEOs, DYEOs, HMs, and Organizing Secretaries to extend their cooperation in conducting the school games and ensure that the organizing secretaries, district school games secretaries should follow the above guidelines for smooth conduct of games and sports successfully.
