The Government of India has approved the 55 Hub Schools and 55 Spoke Schools for implementation of Vocation Education HUB and SPOKE model in schools under Vocational Education in PAB 2024-25 for the academic year 2024-25.
All the District Educational Officer & Ex-Officio Project Coordinators and all the Additional Project Coordinators of the Samagra Shiksha in the State are informed that the infrastructure available in the Hub schools be utilized by the students of nearby schools (Spoke Schools) for implementation of Vocation Education HUB and SPOKE model in schools.
Objectives of Hub and Spoke Schools:
- Increasing access to skill education in schools by covering hitherto uncovered schools and students where the regular VE model is not feasible due to
- Low enrolment,
- Non availability of space for Lab Construction.
- Improved utilisation of existing resources (from Existing schools under Vocational Labs, ATAL Tinkering Labs and STEM Labs
- Achieve NEP target to cater Vocational education to 50% of students by 2025.
Instructions for implementation of Vocational Education in Hub and Spoke Schools which are sanctioned in Samagra Shiksha PAB 2024-25.
- The institutions approved under Hub schools and Spoke schools shall operate in their existing buildings and premises.
- Each Hub schools needs to have adequate skill lab facilities for face-to-face delivery of skills and hands –on practice for students of spoke school.
- The Hub schools should utilize the existing infrastructures like Vocational Labs, ICT Labs STEM Labs) and ATAL Labs etc. for Skill Education training purpose.
- Target Benefciaries: Secondary schools students of 55 Hub Schools and Spoke Schools.
- For theory classes, vocational trainer of Hub School should go to the spoke school and teach theory Class.
- For Practical classes, Spoke School Students come to Hub School and attend Practical class.
- The allotment of periods should be fnalized mutual consultation of both Hub and Spoke School Headmaster/Principal.
- The Hub School Headmaster/Principal should conduct two theory and two practical classes per week.
Therefore, all the District Educational Officer & Ex-Officio Project Coordinators and all the Additional Project Coordinators of the Samagra Shiksha in the State are informed to start the Vocational Classes from 25- 10-2024 in 55 Hub Schools and 55 Spoke Schools which are sanctioned in PAB 2024-25.
