KOUSHAL 2024 Registration, Syllabus, Material, Schedule KOUSHAL Science Talent Test 2024-2025 conduct State Level Science Competition in November, 2024 for students studying Classes 8th to 10th in Government Managed Schools Certain Instructions


Bharatiya Vijnana Mandali, is conducting KOUSHAL a Science talent test covering all Government/ Zilla Parishad Schools in Andhra Pradesh. KOUSHAL-2018 received huge response from students from every corner of the Andhra Pradesh. Keeping in view of the interest & scientific tempo of students we are planning to take this science movement this year also. 


KOUSHAL a State Level Science Competition started in 2018 for Students of Government managed schools in Andhra Pradesh in association with APCOST, Government of Andhra Pradesh. Koushal is a unique platform for Government school students to explore, learn and compete in the field of science. This is a flagship competitive program organized by Bharatiya Vijnana Mandali which delivers challenging experience and ignites the rural young minds of Andhra Pradesh. Further, Koushal also encourages the children to solve problems with team spirit and makes them to discover the Indian contribution to the world in the field of science and technology. Koushal mainly helps to boost confidence and enable the rural students of Andhra Pradesh to realize their optimum potential.

All the District Educational Officers in the State is invited to the references cited, wherein the National Secretary, Bahratiya Vijnana Mandali informed that their organization is committed upon stimulating and strengthening the young minds of rural Andhra Pradesh through a State Level Science competition in the name of KOUSHAL, with association of Science City. The students studying Classes 8th to 10th in Government managed schools are eligible to apply. The examination will be conducted in 3 phases i.e. School level, District Level and State Level during November, December, 2024. Thus, requested to accord permission and extend cooperation for conduct of aforementioned programme and also requested to kindly sanction OD facility to the teachers involved in this. activity.


Therefore, all the District Educational Officers in the State are requested to issue instructions to all filed functionaries and Headmasters. of High Schools to conduct extensive awareness campaigns on KOUSHAL 2024 - State Level Science Competition for the students studying Class 8th to 10th in Government Schools and Aided Schools. Ensure that all eligible students are aware of the registration dates (22-10-2024 to 15-11-2024) and procedure of the examination, for benefiting the students.


All the District Educational Officers in the State are further requested to provide O.D facility to the identified teachers (as per the list enclosed) on involvement in conducting Koushal 2024 on the following days: 

  • OD facility for State, Academic, District Coordinators to take up outreach and registration activity on any 3 days during 1st November to 15th November 2024 
  • OD facility on 13th December 2024 to conduct an sensitization program to participate in the State level competition for the shortlisted (Rank) students of the District in their headquarters. 
  • OD facility to All District, State Coordinators & Academic Team Members to attend State level Competition on 29th & 30th December 2024 (29th Sunday).

The test is organized free of cost for the students studying in Government and Aided Schools and no financial aspects are involved in the conduct of the merit tests. The organizers shall not use the information. pertaining to the students and the test for any profit motive or other activities without the explicit approval of the department.

Guidelines for QUIZ Competition:


Structure of the Competition

Level 1: Preliminary Exam (online)

  •  An online written test using digital devices will be conducted for students of classes 8th, 9th & 10th.
  •  Preliminary Examination at school level is ONLINE using digital devices under supervision of School Coordinators.
  • Subjects: Mathematics, Science, Social Studies (Geography) from their respective class (AP State Syllabus of this Academic Year) Bharat Darshan & Indian Contributions to science.
  •  The exam paper consists of 45 Questions and the exam duration will be 60 minutes.
  •  Top three from each class from each school will get e-Certificate.
  •  The topper of each class will be selected as Quiz Team Member.
  •  The quiz team consists of three students (from all classes). Their aggregate mark will be considered as School Team mark.

Level 2: District Level Competition

  •  Top 36 Teams in a District will be called for District Competition.
  •  Quiz will be conducted in two rounds (Preliminary & Final).
  •  Cash Awards to Quiz Team at District Level: 1st : 6000/-    2nd : 4500/-    3rd : 3000/-
  •  Top two teams in District will be allowed to participate in State Level Quiz.

Level 3: State Level Competition

  • Top Two teams selected in District level from each District shall be allowed for the State Level Koushal Competition.
  •  Preliminary Round of Quiz will be conducted for all teams.
  •  Final Quiz will be conducted for the top six teams selected from preliminary Round.
  •  Top Three Teams will be given Cash Awards.
  •  Cash Awards for Quiz Team: 1st: 15000   2nd: 12000  3rd: 9000.
  •  There are three consolation awards: 6000 each
  •  The rules will be announced at the venue. It will be conducted using a projector.
  •  The decision of the organizing team, quiz-master will be final and will not be subjected to any change.
  •  Quiz Competition will be conducted in two rounds: Preliminary Round and Final Round.

Guidelines for Poster Competition:



Posters are invited from class 8th & 9th Students - Guidelines
  • All the participants are hereby instructed to follow the rules and regulations as mentioned below Participants need to make sure that they are abide by all the rules and regulations.
1. Size of the Poster: Half chart (22×15 inches) or (55.88×38.1cm)
Note :-If the chart size 1 or 2 cm above or below no issue.
2. Materials Allowed: card board/chart/cloth paper/or any ecofriendly materials,Natural colors, Sketches, Pencil, paper cuttings, etc.
3. Prohibited materials: flex, vinyl, thermocol, etc., pollutants.
4. Poster should reflect any one of the given themes.
5. The language of explanation may be either in Telugu or English.
6. The same poster should be carried to the district level competition.
7. No Project type materials or kits allowed for presentation.

General themes:

1. Yogasan-A paradigm of health sciences (యోగాసనము - ఆరోగ్య శాస్త్రాల పరిపాఠి)
2. My village-A plastic free village (నా గ్రామం - ప్లాస్టిక్ రహిత గ్రామం)

Contributions to Science (ICS) themes:
  1. Traditional Knowledge Systems of Andhra Pradesh/Andhra Vijnana Viabhavam (Pride of Andhra - Ancient to Modern)

Organising Team:

  • State Level Organising Team With 18 Senior teachers will take care of conducting Kosuhal 2024 at all levels from school level to State level.
  • In Each district co Ordinator and Joint co Ordinator will be nominated for taking care of registrations, conducting school and district level examinations.

 Online Examination

  • Online examination in two levels (school and district) using digital devices will be conducted through Code Tantra Online Examination Platform.

Syllabus for the KOUSHAL 2024 Competition:

General Instructions

KOUSHAL competition is based on the State Board syllabus and 80% of the questions will be from Physical Science, Biological Science and Mathematics Textbooks of 8th,9th & 10th Standards. Remaining 20% of the questions will be on Indian Contributions to Science.
